Reghu's works are inspired by the artist's own agricultural background, and the Gandhian ideal of working with local materials. There is something rather calming about G Reghu's sculptures. Whether it is two figures, astride on a motorcycle, or one sitting in a meditative pose – or even a set of them simply staring at the sky, basking under the sun – it seems that they inhabit an alternate realm created by Reghu, where time doesn't rush by and things seem simpler.
